An industry body for the profession that connects clients with aircraft.
The Global Charter Brokers Association is the only association dedicated exclusively to the charter brokerage profession — publishing open standards, verifying broker profiles and coordinating cross-border collaboration between the intermediaries clients depend on.
A profession without a professional body.
Air charter brokerage sits at the centre of every non-scheduled flight arranged for a private, corporate, medical, humanitarian or government client. Brokers translate a client requirement into a regulated, insured, contractually sound charter — selecting operators, negotiating terms, coordinating documentation, managing payments and carrying the commercial relationship. That role has always existed. What has been missing is a body that treats it as a profession in its own right.
Existing aviation institutions represent aircraft operators, manufacturers, business-aviation associations or airport interests. Regulators oversee air carriers. Nobody, until now, has published open, versioned standards for the intermediaries. GCBA exists to fill that gap — not by lobbying, but by publishing.
“An informed client, a documented flight and an accountable intermediary are the three pillars of a trustworthy charter transaction.”
What we publish
The Association's work is expressed through public artefacts, each with a version number, publication date, review date and change history:
- The Professional Standards Framework — twelve pillars covering disclosure, operator due diligence, contracts, client funds, marketing, safety-adjacent conduct, privacy and training.
- The Code of Professional Conduct — the fundamental obligations accepted by GCBA broker members.
- The Broker Directory — a structured public directory with a stated review methodology and explicit profile statuses.
- The Knowledge Base — independent, editorially reviewed guidance that is neutral to any single vendor or operator.
What GCBA is not
GCBA is not an aircraft operator, direct air carrier, government regulator, safety-audit body, procurement platform or booking service. Directory inclusion is not an operational safety rating and does not substitute for legal, insurance or aviation-safety advice. Where the Association's standards diverge from binding law in a jurisdiction, the law governs.
How the Association is governed
GCBA is governed by a published constitution, an independent Advisory Board drawn from brokerage, aviation law, safety, finance and technology, and a written conflicts-of-interest policy that names material commercial relationships. Standards are not adopted by a vote of paying members; they are drafted by working groups, opened to public consultation, revised and then published with a formal effective date.
Editorial content is separated from commercial partnerships. The Editorial Policy sets out review, correction and disclosure standards for every article and standard we publish.
