Process

How GCBA standards are developed.

Every standard follows a public drafting, consultation, review and publication cycle. Material changes are logged in a public changelog.

  1. 1

    Scoping

Working groups define the scope and objectives of a proposed standard.

  2. 2

    Drafting

A drafting group prepares a Public Draft with version 1.0 and defined review dates.

  3. 3

    Open consultation

The draft is opened for public consultation with structured feedback.

  4. 4

    Revision

Feedback is reviewed transparently; a revised draft is republished.

  5. 5

    Publication

The standard is published with a version number, publication date and next review date.

  6. 6

    Change management

Material changes are recorded in the public changelog; superseded versions remain accessible.
